Child Safety Standards
Pluto Friends ("Pluto") has zero tolerance for child sexual abuse and exploitation (CSAE), including child sexual abuse material (CSAM), grooming, sextortion and any sexualisation of minors. This page explains the standards we hold ourselves and our members to, and what we do to prevent, detect and act on this abuse.
1. Pluto is for adults only
- Pluto is only for people aged 18 or older. Everyone must enter their date of birth when they sign up, and anyone under 18 is refused.
- A date of birth cannot be changed once it has been set, so it cannot be edited later to get around the age limit.
- Accounts we believe belong to a minor are removed.
2. What is never allowed
- Any sexual content involving, or appearing to involve, anyone under 18, including images, video, text, drawings or AI-generated material.
- Contacting, grooming, or attempting to meet a minor for sexual purposes.
- Sharing, requesting, selling or linking to CSAM anywhere on Pluto, including chats, groups, stories and video calls.
- Sextortion: threatening to share intimate images to get more images, money or anything else.
Nudity and sexual content of any kind are also against our Pluto Trust & Safety guidelines for all members.
3. How we prevent and detect abuse
- Age gate at sign-up, with the date of birth locked afterwards.
- Automatic nudity detection on profile photos, stories, group photos and live video calls (through periodic stills), where enabled. Flagged photos are removed and flagged video calls are ended immediately.
- Selfie verification, reviewed by our team, to confirm members are real people who match their photos.
- Human review of every report by our safety team.
4. How to report
- In the app: open the person's profile or chat, tap ⋯ → Report, and choose "Underage" or the reason that fits. Reporting someone also blocks them. You can also report during a video call or Vibe Check, and report groups.
- By email: support@plutofriends.com with the subject "Child safety report". Please don't attach abusive images; describe what you saw and where.
- If a child is in immediate danger, contact your local police straight away.
5. What we do when we find it
- Remove the content and permanently ban the accounts involved, without warning.
- Preserve the relevant information as evidence, as the law requires.
- Report CSAM and child exploitation to the appropriate authorities, including the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children (NCMEC) and relevant regional and national law enforcement, such as the Zimbabwe Republic Police Victim Friendly Unit, and cooperate with their investigations.
6. Compliance with the law
Pluto complies with applicable child safety laws in the places where it is available, and with Google Play's and Apple's child safety policies.
7. Child safety contact
Our designated contact for child safety matters can be reached at support@plutofriends.com. Reports are prioritised and reviewed as quickly as possible.
